After downloading your file, macros must be enabled for the file to work properly.
In the case of using the file with a Mac, when opening the document, you are asked whether or not you want to activate the macros. Just click on "Enable macros" and the document will be functional.
In the case of Windows, the way to enable macros depends on your version. We recommend that you save your file in a folder other than downloads before enabling macros.
1st possibility:
2nd possibility:
It depends on whether you purchased the version for individuals (basic or advanced) or the one for professionals.
In the case of professionals, as these are monthly or annual subscriptions, there is nothing to do. Simply log in to your account, open an existing client's projection (or create a new one) and re-upload the file. This will be the new version that will be downloaded.
In the case of individuals, you must log in to your account and purchase the 2024 license (under My account/Purchase a license). After purchasing the 2024 version, you can return to the Projection menu, create a new projection and download the new file.
The license needs internet access to be validated. You cannot therefore use the Excel file offline because in this case the license cannot be activated.
Most of the time this message appears because the macros are not correctly enabled. Please check the point "How to activate macros?"
There may also be an update for Excel or your operating system. We recommend that you make these updates which could solve the problem.
If the problem persists, do not hesitate to contact us: info@planifretraite.ca
This tool is an Excel file compatible with Excel Mac and Windows versions from version 2010. However, it is not compatible with Numbers, OpenOffice and GoogleSheets.
For your information, we would really like our tool to be compatible with LibreOffice/OpenOffice or even Numbers and GoogleSheets. Unfortunately there is no formula compatibility between these different supports and the macros which we use for more complex calculations and to facilitate use (show/hide columns for example) do not even exist.
We consulted a specialist to see if it would be possible to make all of this compatible but ultimately the result is that it is not that possible at the moment. Will the features of LibreOffice/OpenOffice (or other) improve in the future and allow me to use them? Maybe…. But it’s still not as powerful as “normal” Excel.
For information, the purchase of Microsoft Office costs $79 per year, to have Excel but also all the other tools of the office suite as well as an ad-free email and 1 TB of cloud storage.
When a new version comes out during the year, just log in to your account and upload the Excel file again. The download will always correspond to the latest version available.
In the case of a new so-called "annual" version, you will have to buy back this new version. For example, if you purchased the 2023 version and the 2024 version is released, you will need to repurchase the new version. In the case of professionals who purchased with the annual price, conditions apply.
The cost of the versions is annual. Each year, in December, a new version is made available, that includes tax data for the coming year as well as new features. If you have a version from a previous year and you wish to redo your retirement plan according to the figures for the current year, you will have to purchase our tool again.
Get a 10% deduction on your next purchase each time you refer a friend who buys. Contact us if this is your case!
If you have purchased RetirePlan - base plan and you find that RetirePlan - Advanced plan would be more suitable for you, you can upgrade in the same year and only pay the difference. If you are in this situation, contact us: info@planifretraite.ca.
You must be on the demo version. You need to switch to one of the available paid versions.
Here's how to renew your numbers while keeping track of your retirement journey:
Download the new version of Calculetraite (basic, advanced or professional) without overwriting your old completed file.
Fill in all the information in the input data tab according to your figures from the beginning of the year. It may take some time depending on whether you already know your numbers or if you have investments in several banks, for example. I recommend that you pay particular attention to the values indicated in the calculation assumption table (such as the expected returns) as well as the net income necessary for retirement which, according to your consumption, is supposed to increase from year to year following the inflation.
Copy your history (year 2019, 2020 and 2021…. depending on which year you started using CalculRetraite) from the “Results details” tab of your previous file and paste it into your new file.
CAUTION, you must:
Here you have your financial statement for the new year:
The "Actual versus planned" column: allows you to see the difference between the total capital that the file had calculated for you for the end of the previous year and your current figures (ideally at the beginning of the year).
"Real savings": which you must enter manually and which allows you to see if you and your spouse have saved as much during the year as expected.
